Bryn MawrMy Review
My old DSL ISP had been sold, and my service was going down hill, just as I noticed the USI antennas going up on the phone poles in my neighborhood.I finally got a post card saying service was available on my block.
I first signed up for the 3 mb/s service, received their Ruckus modem and plugged it in. I noticed it took a bit of rearrangement to get the best signal, but ended up putting it in a window in my basement, but can see the phone pole with their antenna. It worked as advertized and I was very happy. I did a year prepay, so when my first year had passed, I called them to ask about upgrading to 6 mb/s service. They electronically connected to my modem to confirm the higher speed would work at my house, but they said the signal was more than good enough. I've been on it ever since. In the spring of 2012 I bought an Obi Talk VOIP box, and now do all my telephone calling using Google Voice over my USI Internet connection.
Its too bad I've seen some negative press about USI, as I think they've provided Minneapolis great internet service. I think my neighbors who use Comcast or Century Link are not getting the best bang for their buck!
