Fed up with looking for change to pay parking meters? There's another way to pay to park at a meter in Minneapolis and St. Paul.

The Parking Card is a credit-sized card that can be used in parking meters in place of coins.

The cards are free, but must be purchased with an initial balance of $5. Extra money can be added as needed. The card never expires.

To pay for parking, insert the card into the slot on the meter. The time will start ticking up. Remove the card once the desired time appears on the display.

The same card can be used in meters in Minneapolis and St. Paul. The card contains two separate balances, one for Minneapolis and one for St. Paul. The card will only work in a city if there are funds in that city's balance. So if you are driving across the river, charge the card for the other city or bring old-fashioned change with you.

The cards can be purchased and recharged at vending machines across both cities.
