The IDS Tower is the tallest building in Minnesota at 792 feet. The IDS Tower was designed by Philip Johnson. The zig-zag stepback design (called "zogs" by Johnson) allows for several corner offices per floor, for more happy executives.

The reflective glass of the IDS Center mirrors the surrounding buildings: in this case the Wells Fargo Center. Cesar Pelli, who designed the Minneapolis Central Library and the Gaviidae Common mall, also designed the Wells Fargo Center.
