Artists are inspired by the snow and ice in many ways, and one of the most exciting is an annual festival on Medicine Lake in Pymouth. The Art Shanty Projects is an installation of several artist-designed ice fishing houses or shanties which stay on the lake for about a month. Every weekend during the project, there is special events and entertainment at each of the Art Shanties, and on the lake, which can be anything from Art Car parades, live music, tea ceremonies, or talent contests.
The Art Shanty Project begins in mid January through mid February.
