If you are moving to a new neighborhood, you will probably want to know asking how safe that neighborhood is. Here's how to find information on crime, sex offenders and dangerous dogs in a neighborhood of Minneapolis, St. Paul and around the Twin Cities metro area.

Crime in Minneapolis/St. Paul Neighborhoods

Crime rates vary considerably across the Twin Cities metro area, and every city's police department maintains records of crimes, violent and non-violent. These crime statistics are available to the public.

The Minneapolis Police Department publishes weekly crime maps of the city, showing violent and selected non-violent crimes. The Minneapolis Police Department's website has several other crime reports and statistics including maps of gunshots fired in the city, and plenty of historical data.

Sex Offenders and Predators in Minneapolis/St. Paul/Twin Cities Neighborhoods

Individuals convicted of a felony sex crime are required to report their address to law enforcement. Data on sex offender and predators, together with photographs of many of the offenders, is available online and can be searched by city or zip code.

Dangerous Dogs in the Twin Cities

Dogs who have shown aggressive tendencies or have a history of biting or attacking humans or animals are labeled "dangerous dogs". Residences where a dangerous dog lives are available to the public by calling your city's police department. The cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul both publish the locations of dangerous dogs living in their city online.
