Midtown Greenway - Emergency Alert Beacon - Midtown Greenway, Minneapolis

As the Midtown Greenway is below street level, and not easily overlooked by streets or businesses, crime is a concern.

Incidents of theft and attacks have happened on the Midtown Greenway, but theft and attacks also happen to joggers and cyclists on Minneapolis' streets too.

The Midtown Greenway Coalition have been instrumental in improving lighting, installing security cameras along much of the Midtown Greenway, and the placement of emergency alert beacons at regular intervals.

Take the same safety precautions on the Midtown Greenway as you would on any other trail or street. These safety tips for walkers can be adopted by cyclists, joggers and in-line skaters too.
