Minneapolis loves golf - and even six months of winter doesn't stop us playing. Driving Ranges in Minneapolis and Surrounding Area

Golf Zone in Chaska has 40 heated stalls on their full length driving range for practice in the rain, snow and ice. Country Air Golf Park also has heated stalls on their driving range in Lake Elmo.

Golf Simulators

Bunker Indoor Golf Center in Minnetonka is total indoor golf with swing simulators and virtual reality golf all year round.

And another indoor golf simulator, Digital Links in Hastings, lets you try out virtual famous golf courses from around the world.

Golf Domes

Braemar Golf Dome in Edina is the Twin Cities' largest indoor driving range.

Long Lake Golf Dome has an indoor driving range with targets to hit, a putting area, and professional instruction year round.

A Lot of Green Golf is a golf dome with a indoor driving range, plus golf simulators.

Snow Golf in Minneapolis

Playing indoors is great for keeping your swing in practice, but I know that you really want to be playing outside. Here's some golf tournaments and events in the snow and ice in the Minneapolis area.

St. Paul's Winter Carnival has a tradition of golf tournaments. This year, the "Barely" Open Golf Tournament is held at White Bear Lake at 11 a.m. on Saturday January 23. This year, a new tradition might be starting with the first Winter Carnival Disc Golf Tournament at Como Park on January 23 and 24.

The Chilly Open, Lake Minnetonka, Wayzata The Chilly Open is February 13, 2010, and registration opens in mid-December. Note the date, gentlemen in particular, and make sure you remember that Valentines' Day is the day after and that your lady thought that she has the whole winter without loosing you to the greens!

Also on Valentine's Day Eve, February 13 2010, is the Hook and Slice fundraising event on Chub Lake in Carlton, MN, near Duluth. The course is created by forming fairways and bunkers from snow and lining the holes with Christmas trees.

Miniature Golf in Minneapolis - Tournaments and Competitions

The Skyway Open is a miniature golf tournament with 18 architect-designed holes in Minneapolis' skyways. The scramble golf tournament is open to all, and there's prizes up for grabs for the best golfers. The Skyway Open runs from February 25 until February 27 and benefits the Boys and Girls Club.

Pub and Putt of February 27 is a strictly over-21 contest involving 9 pubs and bars in Minneapolis, a miniature golf hole in each, drink specials and an after party. You'll need a team of four and a combined entry fee of $180 to participate, but it's reputed to be a great time, and Pub and Putt raises money for several local charities.
