Guide Review - Trieu Chau Vietnamese Restaurant
You know the kind of day, the kind where you are so busy you barely have time to eat? And then it's 8 p.m. and you are ravenous and you have to have Vietnamese food? I'm lucky to live near University Avenue in St. Paul, home of some of the best Vietnamese food in the Twin Cities.Trieu Chau Restaurant is an odd place, it seems to be an old fast food restaurant. It's in an island at the edge of a corner surrounded by parking lot and diners could feel a little exposed.
We got takeout, which was ready to go in about five minutes. The food is cheap and really good. With a little assistance from the friendly and helpful staff, we ended up with nice egg rolls, a tasty beef, vegetables and ginger entree, and a bun salad with crispy vegetables, perfect noodles, and tofu cooked in delicious spices. Even taking into account we were ravenous, it was still excellent food, especially considering the price.
I hope I'll be able to go back another day when I'm not so rushed, and have the time to sit down with a bowl of pho or another bun salad soon.
