Guide Review - The Tea Garden Tea House
It's as cool as any Twin Cities coffee shop, with lounge seating, free wi-fi, trendy baristas and tasty baked goods, but there's no coffee here. The Tea Garden brews up an astounding range of teas from the ancient to the hyper-modern.
Their speciality is bubble tea, a Taiwanese drink. If you are not familiar, bubbles are pearls of tapioca added to iced or blended tea. The pearls are chewy, slightly sweet, jelly-like spheres, and bubble tea is drunk with a special wide straw to suck up the pearls. Bubble tea is something of an acquired taste. The first time you try it, it will taste bizarre. The second time you try it, it's interesting and perhaps even quite nice. After the third time, tea will taste odd without bubbles.
The Tea Garden also has several flavors of jelly pearls to add to their teas too, instead of bubbles. They also have bubble-free iced tea, blended tea, the chai tea is very good, and plenty of varieties of hot tea too.
There's three Tea Garden locations across the Twin Cities so you'll be able to satisfy your desire for bubble tea wherever you roam.
