Guide Review - Isles Bun and Coffee Shop
The Isles Bun and Coffee Shop is not much more than a kitchen with a serving counter and a couple of tables in it. But what more do you need? It's nice to be able to watch the bakers make wonderful cakes, scones, brownies and cinnamon rolls with proper ingredients like eggs and flour, not things only industrial chemists can pronounce the names of.
The cinnamon rolls are gigantic, and sugar-lovers can top them with as much frosting as desired from the bowl on the counter. Mini rolls, called puppy tails, are cute treats for children. The scones are buttery, not too sweet, with ingredients like blackberries and blueberries, or mango and pecan.
There's a small selection of savory goods and sandwiches, plenty of options for vegetarians and even vegans, and the coffee is great too.
Isles Bun and Coffee Shop is only three short blocks from Lake of the Isles, and it's the perfect place to get some goodies, and take a stroll around the lake.
