Coffee shops that aren't just for the grown ups... these family friendly Minneapolis and St. Paul coffee shops have play areas and toys for the kids while mom or dad sip their coffee.

1. Sovereign Grounds, Minneapolis

Half of this well worn coffee shop is a playroom, with large and small toys and animals to visit. It can get very busy in the winter.

The Longfellow neighborhood coffee shop has a children's area with plenty of toys and books for little ones.

3. The Fireroast Mountain Cafe, Minneapolis

This Longfellow neighborhood coffee shop has a clean kids area, where the toys get disinfected and cleaned weekly. Their food is very good too, with several child-friendly options at kiddie prices.

4. Java Train, St. Paul

Probably the best coffee shops to take young children too. Indoor and outdoor train-themed play areas entertain children in the summer and winter.

5. Ginkgo's Coffee Shop, St. Paul

A small play area in the rear of this coffee shop, a little retail store with pocket money trinkets, and occasional live children's music performances.

6. Tillie's Bean, Minneapolis

This family friendly coffee shop in the Powderhorn neighborhood of Minneapolis has a small play area.

7. Cafe Juliahna

There is organic food, shade grown coffee, and a small children's play area at this west side coffee shop.
