A list of apple orchards and farms where you can pick apples, near Minneapolis and St. Paul.
Minnesota's apple picking season starts in late summer, in mid- to late August, and lasts until October. Many farms grow the famous and delicious Honey Crisp apple, usually available from mid September, and other apple varieties, like the University of Minnesota's Zestar and SweeTango apples.
Call ahead to verify opening hours and directions, and to ensure that the farm has apples before you travel. Apple supply varies significantly, depending on the weather, the season and how busy the apple orchard has been.
Several varieties of apples to pick, and other produce too, such as raspberries and pumpkins. Also on site is a corn maze, petting zoo, tractor rides, and baked goods for sale. Look out for their Apple Festival, with lots of family entertainment and fireworks, usually held on the first three weekends in October.

This apple orchard is a popular destination with lots of attractions, hayrides, playground, seasonal events and entertainment. Minnetonka Orchards has an entrance charge, but only at the weekends, so the thrifty can save by visiting during the week.
