September 7: Labor Day

September 5 - September 7: Valleyfair's Labor Day Weekend Corn Feast Valleyfair and Green Giant have teamed up to give guests all the free corn on the cob they can eat all weekend. Who thinks it's a good idea to gorge yourself and then go on a thrill ride? Then Valleyfair is the place for you.

September 9 - 13: Burnsville Fire Muster This community event has the world's longest fire truck parade, kids' activities, food, fireworks and music.

September 10 - 13: American Pottery Festival celebrates American ceramic artists' work at the Northern Clay Center in Minneapolis' Seward neighborhood.

September 11 - 13: Concrete and Grass Lowertown Music Festival is a free music festival held in Mears Park, downtown St. Paul.

September 12 - 13: James J. Hill Days, and old-fashioned community festival in Wayzata with music, children's activities, and dachshunds races.

September 12 - 13: 2008 Grape Stomp Festival prizes for the best grape stompers, complimentary wine tasting, vineyard and winery tours, and live music at Stillwater's Saint Croix Vineyards.

September 12: Excelsior Apple Day Art, antiques, walking tours and boat rides on Lake Minnetonka. Held on Main Street in downtown Excelsior.

September 12: Bunker Prairie Fest this free event has wagon rides, archery, nature hikes, and several active events at Bunker Hills Regional Park.

September 18 - 20: Minneapolis Oktoberfest beer and sausages all weekend along the Mississippi River in St. Antony Main.
