January 22 - February 1: Winter Carnival is the nations' oldest winter festival. Ice sculpture, ice skating, Minnesota foods, Vulcanus Rex and his Krew, and two wonderful parades, take over downtown St. Paul.

January 31 - February 1: The City of Lakes Loppet is a famous cross-country ski race in Minneapolis, held annually on the first weekend of February. The main race attracts competitors from across the world, and there are several other races for adults and children across different distances. entry to the races is open to all, and for those not racing, it's a great spectator sport.

February 6: Minnesota Craft Brewer's Guild's Winterfest. Tickets for this annual event that celebrates beer brewed in Minnesota usually sell out well in advance.

February 6 - February 8 Bloomington Winter Fete Lots of winter fun in Bloomington's parks, including a broomball tournament, sleigh rides, and family activities like snow painting and sledding.

February 6 - February 8: World of Wheels Minnesota's largest auto show is held at the RiverCentre in St. Paul this weekend.

February 5 - February 7 Hudson Hot Air Affair Just over the state line in Hudson, WI, this annual festival has hundreds of hot air balloons flying, and other family-friendly events over three days.
