Hooray for May! There's a lot going on in the Twin Cities this month, often the first true month of summer, and outdoor events and activities - most people's May calendars are jam packed. What events are happening in Minneapolis and St. Paul this May?
Mayday is May 1. The 37th Annual Heart of the Beast Mayday Parade is held on the first Sunday of May, but due to bad weather, it will be held on Sunday May 13 in 2012.
Cinco De Mayo is a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride. A street festival, car show, and food, music and entertainment will fill St. Paul's west side District Del Sol on May 5. It's the biggest Cinco De Mayo festival in the Midwest, and there are several more Cinco de Mayo celebrations in Minneapolis and St. Paul.
Mother's Day is May 13. Forget this at your peril!
May 28 is Memorial Day. Several events happen in the Twin Cities for Memorial Day.
Farmer's Markets usually open on the first weekend of May for fresh, locally grown produce.
