June 2011 Events and Festivals in Minneapolis and St. Paul: June 1 - June 5

May 31 until mid September: Minneapolis Outdoor Concert Series over 220 concerts held at four Minneapolis parks. Just about every musical style is represented, many local artists and musicians are taking part, and every concert is free.

May 31 - June 5 : Flint Hills International Children's Festival Children's performances at the Ordway Center, and free art activities at the World Party outside in Rice Park and Landmark Plaza in St. Paul introduce children to all kinds of performing arts.

June 3 - 5 : Edina Art Fair is one of the larger in the Twin Cities, with live music, food, children's activities, and Edina-style entertainment like fashion shows and lifestyle demonstrations.

June 4: Canine Carnival Your own dog is welcome at this celebration of wolves, foxes and domestic dogs at the Wildlife Science Center, about 30 minutes north of the Metro area.

June 4-12 : Bike Walk Week The Twin Cities have a higher-than-average percentage of commuters who use bikes, public transit or walking to get to work, and this week of events aims to get that percentage even higher. Bike Walk Week is a celebration of bikers, public transit users, and walkers with prizes, events and free food and refreshments at "Celebration Locations" across the metro area.

June 4 and throughout the summer: Minneapolis MOSAIC Festival for the Arts opens today. An evening of free performances in downtown Minneapolis kicks off the festival this evening. Festival events continue throughout the summer.

June 5: Grand Old Day The 36th annual Grand Old Day has a parade, sporting events, international music from several local acts, dancing, children's activities, food, free beauty products and more. On St. Paul's Grand Avenue.
