In December, winter is usually upon us. Here's some ideas of things to do in the snow all month long.
Ski and snowboard areas usually have most or all of their runs open in December, and start giving ski and snowboard lessons.
The ice skating season is here too, with outdoor rinks opening in downtown St. Paul, downtown Minneapolis, and in parks across the Twin Cities.
The historic Alexander Ramsey house is decorated for the season, and costumed guides help recreate the atmosphere in the days of Minnesota's first Governor. Go back in time to a Victorian Christmas with a tour of the Alexander Ramsey house, open Wednesday through Saturdays in December, except Christmas Day.
The annual Holidazzle Parade of lights, costumes, music and Holiday festivities begins on November 29, and runs every Friday and Saturday night through December 21.
Christmas is December 25.
The seven days of Kwanzaa, the African-American celebration of life, begin December 26 through January 1.
