August 27 - September 7: Minnesota State Fair "The Great Minnesota Get-Together" begins all this week, through Labor Day. You and the other 1.6 million annual visitors can enjoy the thrill rides, livestock, fifty types of food on sticks, big-name entertainment and fireworks every night.
August 28 - August 30: Stiftungsfest is Minnesota's oldest community celebration: this will be the German heritage festival's 147th anniversary. Car show, parades, sporting events and German food and a kid's carnival in Norwood Young America.
August 30: Eagan Art House Open House features art activities, a pottery sale and refreshments.
August 29 - August 30: The Minnesota Renaissance Festival opens it's doors again this weekend. Don't forget your fairy wings. Or your leather britches. Or your flagon of ale.
