The biggest event of the summer, the Minnesota State Fair, opens on August 25, and runs until September 5.
The Minnesota Renaissance Festival, held annually in Shakopee, is a lot of fun for families, and also for anyone who likes wearing leather britches in 90 degree heat. The festival is open on weekends and Labor Day, beginning on August 20, until October 2.
Free outdoor concerts continue across Minneapolis, St. Paul and the Metro area.
