There's a new coffee shop on Grand Avenue in St. Paul. A temporary sign calls them Grand Central, although the outside is still waiting for a permanent sign. The coffee was excellent, and the sandwich very flavorful. It's at 1672 Grand Avenue in St. Paul.
The visit reminded me to check over and my list of coffee shops in St. Paul, and realized that it badly needed updating. Some had moved, some had (sadly) gone out of business, including Coffee News Cafe, on the same block as the new coffee shop. Coffee News is apparently to be turned into a French Meadow Bakery and Cafe, a sister location to the original in Uptown Minneapolis.
And speaking of Minneapolis, a list of the best coffee shops in Minneapolis is in the works. Minneapolis seems to have far more coffee shops than St. Paul, so the task is far from simple, but investigating new coffee shops is certainly my kind of task!
