Opening at Midnight on Friday is so last year. Walmart will be opening for Black Friday sales at 8 pm on Thanksgiving night, so will Toys-R-Us, and Minneapolis-based Target will be opening at 9 pm, and all will have their doors open all night and through Black Friday.
The majority of malls in the Twin Cities are opening at Midnight on Black Friday. Some malls, such as the Northtown Mall in Blaine, and the Galleria in Blaine, nod to the trend and open a few hours earlier, at a not-too-early 7 am and 9 am respectively.
Look out for inserts and Black Friday ads in local papers this weekend, and online at retailer's websites. Will you be doing your shopping at midnight this year, taking advantage of even earlier opening times, or avoiding the whole event?
