Special Events this Winter in Minneapolis and St. Paul

Ice Castles at the Mall of America, in Bloomington. The Mall of America is hoping for a cold winter for the construction of extravagant ice castles in MOA's parking lot. The plan is to build an acre of sparkly 40 foot towers of ice, lit from within with LEDs. Construction is hoped to begin sometime in December, and open sometime around Christmas, weather permitting.

Red Bull Crashed Ice Qualifiers St Paul hosted the final of the Red Bull Crashed Ice championship, which is high-speed downhill ice skating with jumps and tight turns. It's as terrifying as it sounds, and a fantastic spectator sport. Last year, the final was outside the cathedral of St. Paul and will be returning to the same venue this winter - but with new and challenging obstacles. Cheer on Team USA on January 26 in St. Paul.
