Things to do on Thanksgiving Day in Minneapolis

By November 11, 2012

Follow me on:

Thanksgiving is early this year, and seems like it is right around the corner. With four days off work or school, or family visiting from out of town, perhaps you are in need of things to do? Almost every non-vital service is closed for the Thanksgiving weekend, but there are some attractions open. And, there are several races and active events happening on Thanksgiving morning. Perfect to preemptively burn off those calorie!

You may not be excited about the prospect of snow, but local ski hills are. After a meager winter last year, they will likely be hoping for snow - or are making it in preparation for the long weekend. Trollhaugen and Wild Mountain have a few runs open already, and Welch Village and Afton Alps are hoping to be open at Thanksgiving, weather conditions permitting.
