Fall events aplenty this month, with fall colors, and Halloween just around the corner. One event this month that you shouldn't miss is National Fire Prevention week - Many fire departments across the metro area hold open house events in the first two weekends of October, which are always fun especially for little kids who love firetrucks! The open houses come with a serious message and ask for a couple of minutes of your time - put new batteries in your fire alarms this week, or at the very least - test them to make sure they are working.
