- October 31: Halloween. Trick or treat with your kids in your local neighborhood, or visit South St. Paul's annual Halloween Get Together - two blocks of Marie Avenue are turned into a family-friendly spooky world filled with with trick-or-treating opportunities. Avenue Street in South St. Paul, between 7th Avenue to 5th Avenue. The event starts at 5 p.m. on Halloween night.
- November 1 and 2: Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead celebrations. Local art galleries are marking Dia de los Muertos in Minneapolis. On November 2, Altered Esthetics art gallery is holding a special art show, and a candlelit parade and vigil to remember those who have passed away. And the Minneapolis Institute of Arts is curating an exhibition of local children's offrendas, artworks made in honor of loved ones. The MIA show is open from November 1 - December 4, admission is free.
- November 5: Free Family Music Series at McPhail Center for Music: Watch a free live music concert from the Jack Brass Band at the downtown Minneapolis McPhail Center for Music on Saturday morning. The New Orleans Jazz show will have free sample lessons and the opportunity to meet the musicians before and after the concert.
- November 5 - 6: Minneapolis Indie Xpo returns to The Soap Factory for a second year. The Minneapolis Indie Xpo celebrates Midwest comics and cartoonists, those who work on the web, and in print. Free both days, open 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., and check their website for parties and after-hours events.
