Free Things to do in Minneapolis: August 22 - August 28

By August 21, 2011

Follow me on:

  • August 24, and ongoing every Wednesday: Wee Wednesdays at the Midtown Global Market. The Midtown Global Market in Minneapolis will feature the Counting Chef this Wednesday morning. Kids will be treated to a storybook, and get to make a puzzle to take home. The Wee Wednesday program repeats every week - art projects, music, or cooking demonstrations are usually the flavor of the event. And, you can get a free kids meal for your preschoolers with purchase of an adult meal at participating restaurants on Wednesday.
  • August 28: Art in Eagan. The Eagan Art House holds its annual open house, Harvest of Art, this Sunday. Artist demonstrations, an art swap, and outdoor pottery firing, as well as a pottery sale and ice cream from Ring Mountain Creamery.
  • Ongoing: Check out a Museum with the Museum Adventure Pass. As well as checking out books, the 100 public libraries across the Twin Cities also have free admission vouchers for 18 museums, galleries and attractions, free to any library card holder. The participating destinations change every September, so if there's one you've been meaning to visit, make sure you do it soon - and look out for new destinations next month. Here's the current destinations for which you can get free admission.

And here's more free things to do in Minneapolis - and another 100 more free things to do in Minneapolis and St. Paul. And, here's even more free things to do with children in Minneapolis and St. Paul.
