Today, Facebook launched a page for each state's Amber Alert system. If you 'like' the Minnesota Amber Alert page, and perhaps the Wisconsin Amber Alert too, you'll see get local Amber Alerts with photographs and the latest information on each case.
The Amber Alert system is credited with the safe return of over 500 children across the United States. When many people spend more time on Facebook than watching CNN or local news stations, this seems like an excellent method to get the news out when an Amber Alert is issued.
