Golfing Stars Coming To Minnesota for the PGA Championship - How To See the Golf For Free

Saturday June 6, 2009
This year, the 91st PGA Championships, one of golf's four major championships, will be held at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, in the south west suburbs.

The event will be held August 10-16, and tickets are available now from the PGA's website for $319.50, or $452.63 for the Wannamaker Club Package. Each ticket covers admission to all seven days of the tournament. Up to two children under 17 are free with each adult ticket.

For budget-conscious golf fans, volunteering at the event is a way to get to see their golf heroes in exchange for a couple of hours of work. All the official volunteer positions have been filled, although any cancellations will be posted at the volunteer website.

Other organizations who use the PGA as a fundraising event by providing services need volunteers too. The Riverview Economic Development Association, REDA is still looking for volunteers for their food and beverage booth at the event. Volunteers get to watch the golf before or after work and morning and afternoon shifts are available. Contact REDA to volunteer.

The Children's Association - Minneapolis also needs volunteers for concessions stands. By providing volunteers for the PGA Championships, the Children's Association raises money for Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota. Register for volunteer shifts online.
