I used to love this show, but despite my love of reality television, a lack of cash and the complete lack of time to ever watch anything drove me to have the plug pulled on my cable TV. And now I have the feeling that I'm really missing out, especially now that the new season of American Idol has started.
This season might be an exciting one for Minnesotans. Previously, no contestants from Minnesota - and only a handful from the whole of the Midwest - have ever made it to the American Idol finals.
This season, we have four, really, four, local singers competing in Hollywood week, with the other 143 contestants who made it through the first round of auditions.
Casey Carlson, Bryan Peterson, Jesse Langseth, and Nathaniel Asake are all from the Minneapolis/St. Paul area.
Spoiler alert: The Star Tribune printed rumors that out of the four, Casey and Jesse advance to the semi-final 36. Maybe we'll get out first Minnesotan in the final 12 this year?
