Groundhog Day isn't much of a big deal here. We know there will be six more weeks of winter at least, regardless of what rodents have to say about it. But kids think this holiday is a cool one, so here's a couple of ideas for Groundhog Day in and around Minneapolis and St. Paul.
- Visit the closely related Black Tailed Prairie Dogs at Minnesota Zoo.
- Come to Coffee Grounds in Falcon Heights for their day-long "Grounds Hog Day" celebration.
- The Bell Museum of Natural History is closed on Mondays, but from Tuesday through Sunday, children can visit groundhogs, beavers, and all kinds of live and mounted animals in the museum's dioramas and Touch and See room.
