We had the most fun morning racing around Minneapolis, solving clues, taking on challenges, falling off our bikes, meeting other racers, and then relaxing with a beer at the after party at the Midtown Bike Center.
All kinds of people raced on Sunday, There were serious racers, people in fancy dress, one team in Packers gear and another in rival Vikings jerseys. A few teams rode tandems, some racers towed their children in trailers, one man who was a last minute replacement for his injured wife rode in a skirt.
Here's how my team fared in the Urban Assault Ride..
The Urban Assault Ride has been asking bikers to take on the challenge in other cities around the US for several years, but this is the first year the ride has come to Minneapolis. With almost 500 riders taking part, it was one of the most successful first races in a city. Welcome, Urban Assault Ride, we hope you'll be back in 2009!
