The Irish Fair of Minnesota, St. Paul's Harriet Island, August 8-10 2008

Follow me on:

In the winter St. Paul has the St. Patrick's Day Parade, and in the summer, the Irish Fair of Minnesota takes over Harriet Island for three days in August. The free festival has Irish sports (men in kilts!) music (Flogging Molly!) as well as food and drink, children's activities, Irish dancers, a cultural area, Irish dogs and more. It's one of Minnesota's biggest festivals and it's all free.

The Irish Festival still needs volunteers to help with various aspects of the fair. This is a very fun place to work, so if you have some time to spare then you can register as a volunteer at the Irish Fair's website.

But is there green beer? As a St. Patrick’s Day baby who is a quarter Irish, this sounds like an event I’d enjoy.
