Pride Preview: Block Party, Festival, and Parade

Friday June 27, 2008
This weekend is the famous and fabulous Twin Cities GLBT Pride Celebration.

On Friday 27, the free Uptown Pride Block Party rocks from 6 - 10.30 p.m. at Bryant Avenue and Lake Street in Minneapolis.

The Pride Festival is all weekend, June 28 and 29, at Loring Park. The festival is free, with entertainment, food, vendors, fireworks, a children's area, and the opportunity for couples to express their love in a Mass Commitment Ceremony.

At the festival on Saturday evening, the Pride Headline show features En Vogue and Deborah Cox. Tickets for the show are still available at the Twin Cities Pride website.

On Sunday, the Ashley Rukes GLBT Pride Parade starts at 11 a.m. and follows Hennepin Avenue from downtown Minneapolis to Loring Park. Over 125,000 spectators watched the parade last year, so it's recommended you arrive early to get a good spot.
