Severe Weather Possible This Week for the Twin Cities

When I first moved to Minnesota from California, it was a year much like this one. A bitterly cold winter, a late, wet spring, and then when I thought we were through with weather, the summer storms and tornado season started. For someone for who "bad weather" had previously meant a little rain shower, it was a huge shock.

The National Weather Service is predicting thunderstorms and hail all this week, and is tracking a weather pattern that may produce especially severe weather, and possibly a tornado, on Thursday.

Please keep a watch on the weather forecast this week, and just in case, be prepared to take shelter from severe weather.

If tornado season is new to you as it was to me, the best thing you can do to keep yourself safe is to be prepared. Keep yourself aware of what the weather is doing, and know what to do if a tornado does strike. Here's more information on tornado preparedness.

Wishing everyone a good and safe week, and even if we have bad weather this week, at least we had a beautiful weekend!
