Earth Day Events in Minneapolis and St. Paul
The longest running tradition in Minneapolis is the Watershed Clean-Up Day. On Saturday 19 April, thousands of volunteers will be gathering at Minneapolis' parks, lakes, and the banks of the Mississippi to clean up trash and debris. Ugly litter dumped at our parks pollutes the water, can kill wildlife and can be hazardous to park visitors. This year is the 14th Watershed Clean-Up Day. So if you can, join in, and spend a couple of hours helping to keep Minneapolis beautiful on the Saturday before Earth Day.
The Recycle Run 5K will be taking place on Sunday 20 March, and there's also events happening at Minnesota Zoo, Como Park, and Harriet Island. Here's a list of events celebrating Earth Day in the Twin Cities.
